At King’s Furlong Infant School and Nursery our teaching of PE ensures all children have access to high quality, engaging PE sessions, wider sporting opportunities, and encourages an enjoyment and value for all sports. To develop the whole child socially, emotionally and physically and give them the skills to make healthy lifestyle choices in the future.

Children are taught, and given opportunity to practise fundamental movement skills: agility, balance and co-ordination. Opportunity is given for children to regularly apply these skills in practical contexts within a wide range of physical activities. We also want our children to cooperate and collaborate with each other as part of an effective team, understand fairness and equity of play to embed life-long values.

Children will be exposed to age appropriate PE equipment from Nursery upwards. When equipment is introduce children will be taught the correct name for this equipment and how to use it safely. 

We give the children the skills, techniques and understanding required to ensure that they make a positive impact on their own physical health and well-being.
