At King’s Furlong Infant School and Nursery our teaching of  music exposes children to a variety of music experiences, through which we aim to build up the confidence of every child. Music lessons are fun and inspiring, engaging the children with songs, lyrics and movement. Children are taught to listen to and respond to a range of musical experiences appreciating different musical forms and so increase self-confidence, creativity and sense of achievement. 

We teach the children skills to compose, perform and evaluate their own musical sequences. We want children to be expressive and reflective developing their own appreciation of music.

Opportunities to experience and play music promotes team working, concentration, problem-solving skills, and develops identity. The forms of music taught and heard reflect our diverse community.
