On Thursday 8th October 2009, a special School Council / Young Interpreters Assembly was held as part of a series focussing on 'People Who Help Us' in school.
........................................................................... Last year the school council walked to Basingstoke town centre to the ‘Build a Bear Workshop’. They were given a budget of £25 from the shop and had to negotiate the type of animal to choose, its clothes and its name. They chose a very soft bear, school uniform and gave him the name Cuddles and he will be part of our emotional well being programme. They were then taken to Debenhams for a healthy drink before the walk back to school. Recently, the new school council will decided how Cuddles will be used. For news about Cuddles Click on his name. Last year’s school council also got Wendy Wednesday from the Build A Bear Workshop. Every Wednesday, the class with the most people walking to school wins Wendy for a week. She lives next to Cuddles until she is given to the winning class. To see pictures of Wendy Wednesday click on her name.
