Access Information for visitors to
King’s Furlong Infant School & Nursery
There is 1 designated parking space for disabled drivers in the main Car Park and we invite registered Blue Badge holders to use the intercom at the main entrance to the school car park to request access to it. Spaces in the car park are very limited so, generally, its use is restricted to staff and expected, authorised visitors only. General parking for parents and casual visitors is available on Portacre Rise from where it is a short walk down Upper Chestnut Drive to access the main school gate. Pedestrian access is via the gate to the left of the electronic gate for the car park.
If you have mobility problems or use a wheelchair, please note:
The pathway leading from the main gate up to the school entrance as well as to Nursery and the playground, is level but on a gradient. The Nursery and playground approaches are on a steep gradient but once accessed, are level, without steps. The main school building is single-storey and level throughout, with easy access to a disabled toilet. There are low (approx. 15cm) steps at the external doors leading out of the classrooms at the front of the building.
We want you to enjoy your visit to our school. Please ring the school office in advance if you feel you may need assistance in accessing any part of our school. We’ll be happy to help.
Access to the mobile classrooms for Year 2, Fox and Otter classes, is via the gate on the junior school playground, or via a ramp at the front of the infant school. Please note that the ramp has a steep gradient.
